H&R 300 AAC Blackout Handi-Rifle Review Basic disassembly of the 300 AAC Blackout Handi-Rifle is very simple and requires a single Phillips screwdriver.
First press the release lever and open the action to ensure the rifle is unloaded. Next use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw on the bottom of the forend. With the screw removed, pull down on the front of the forend and the forend will separate away from the rifle. Now when you press the release lever, the barrel will rotate farther down and slightly back and can be removed from the action. Last, you can remove the thread protector and that is all that is needed to properly clean your Handi-Rifle. The photo below shows the rifle disassembled to this state. I decided to go ahead and remove the stock and optics mount rail to show what I consider to be the maximum you would ever want to disassemble your rifle To remove the rail, you remove the three screws. To remove the stock, you first remove the recoil pad by loosening the two screws that pass through the pad and into the stock. With the recoil pad removed, you can then access and remove the stock bolt.
Thoughts It doesn't get much simpler than disassembly on a break action rifle and this was true for the Handi-Rifle.
