Ruger PC Carbine Review
Part 2 - What's In The Box
January 21, 2018

In this part of my Ruger PC Carbine Review, I'm going to show what you get when you purchase the new Ruger PC Carbine and also give you my first impressions of this new rifle.

The rifle comes boxed as shown.

Figure 1

The end of the box had a sticker with the critical information about this rifle such as:

  • Model: 19100
  • Finish: Black Oxide
  • Serial Number: Shown
  • Catalog No: PPC-9
  • Caliber: 9mm Luger

Figure 2

The contents were packed as shown.  Overall very simple, yet it seemed effective.

Inside the box were the following items:

  • Ruger PC Carbine
  • 17-Round SR9 Magazine
  • Glock Magazine Well Insert
  • Two extra 1/2" Buttpad Spacers (one is already installed on the firearm)
  • Three Allen Wrenches (one for the takedown screws & charging handle, one for sight adjustment and one for removing the buttpad bolts so you can add or remove spacers)
  • Chamber Flag
  • Firearm Lock
  • Instruction Manual
  • Other Printed Items

These next several photos show the "as received" condition of this new firearm.  Being new, it did come in great condition like it should.  The only thing I found were some marks on the sides of the buttstock.  These were not significant and most likely I will add several more marks as I put this firearm into use.  Keep in mind that clicking on a photo in my reviews will bring up a high resolution image allowing you to see the finer details.

I decided to go ahead and include this photo showing the takedown configuration.

First Impressions

Honestly I knew I was going to be impressed with this carbine just by looking at the specs and photos at the Ruger website. I also biased my opinion further by watching other video reviews. Now having held one and having a chance to look it over closely, this new Ruger PC Carbine surpassed my expectations. The carbine has a good look and feel that most people will like and Ruger really paid attention to aesthetics and detail in the in the receiver and barrel components. Also, the features Ruger put into this new product ambi-mag release, ambi-charging handle, Glock magazine capable and threaded barrel makes me feel the Ruger PC Carbine will be around for a long time.
